[Samba] samba - openldap
Hello, I run samba 3.0.33-0.fc8 on fedora core 8. Few days ago samba ran and asked for the ldap server. Now I don't understand why I see this message in messages. teh smbd daemon shuts down as soon as it starts. Feb 10 16:10:39 bleuet2 smbd[7786]: svcctl_init_keys: key lookup failed! (WERR_ACCESS_DENIED) The access list is entirely opened on the ldap server and the smb.conf is minimal ! any ideas ? [Samba] shared spaces
Hello, I created a shared space and here is the definition in smb.conf comment = shared space path = /local/sharedspace public = no writable = yes printable = no valid users = x, y, z, w write list = x, y, z, w create mode = 0775 Everybody can create folders or get/put files on the top level. Everyone can read in folders created by an other. It appears that folders created by a client belongs to this client on the server and thus writing in this folder is forbidden for others. Does a parameter exist to permit to write files in folders created by an other. Hello, I am running a samba 3.0.32 under fedora core 9. I only try to authenticate users against a ldap server. Of course this server knows the encrypted password as microsoft does. I entered the ldap password using smbpasswd to query into the ldap. After this, I just obtain a message like "you don't have rights to ...". What errors do I make ??? [Samba] Authentification problems with ldap
Hello, Until now samba authentify users against a nis§ database. I just only want the same thing but that samba looks for login/password against a ldap server to identify users. I run samba-3.0.32 on fedora core 9. I enter the command below so my server can read ldap : smbpasswd -w read_pasword When I write login/password in authentification box on the client windows XP it doesn't work ! On the slapd.log I read : Oct 10 11:51:54 host1 slapd[24570]: conn=16 op=3 SRCH base="dc=ourdomain,dc=fr" scope=2 deref=0 filter="(&(uid=frontin)(objectClass=sambaSamAccount))" In /var/log/samba/myhost.log I find sam_account_ok adn logon_hour_ok Any ideas ! Hello, Do anybody know this problem ? Users wait one minute or more to see his(her mounted home. The configuration is : Windows XP pro, samba 3.0.2, solaris 8. We work with encrypt passwords = no.
