I am having an issue changing local unix passwords - when I attempt to change my root
password, I get this error:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: passwd
Supported configurations for passwd management are as follows:
passwd: files
passwd: files ldap
passwd: files nis
passwd: files
Has anyone had any issue using remsh and rcp using a windows acct? When I log into my
unix box with my nt acct, i can run su, rlogin but not remsh or rcp. Am I missing
something.

Yes, You will need services for unix (~$80) to make it happen. Or another program
such as maestro nfs. We use services for unix and it works fine for us.

My problems seems to be the same one - getent group only returns unix groups and
domain admins group. My samba server is hpux 11, samba
When I type $getent passwd, works great - see all my users etc.
When I type $getent group, I only get domain admins and all unix groups.
wbinfo -g jfountain, works fine, i can see all the groups i am a member of.
cat /etc/nsswitch.conf
hosts: files [NOTFOUND=continue UNAVAIL=continue] dns
I am running HP UX and having nothing but problems getting samba to show me the
correct groups. getent passwd and getent group may be the source but I don't have this
program on HP UX. I am playing with samba on my linux box (working fine) and I do
have these options. Is this not native on

When I do a groups jfountain, i only get the number 5. I am in 10
