As a new year gift, you can now download and use Samba-VMS in version
2.2.7a, at the usual site (http://www.pi-net.dyndns.org/anonymous/jyc/).
This is the latest stable (as they say) release available for Unix.

The syntax of SMBPASSWD is the same with VMS as it is with UNIX. In order to
enter your server in the domain, you should type :
$ mc samba_root:[bin]smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r PDC_NAME
Note that your SMB.CONF file must be in SAMBA_ROOT:[LIB], and must contain :
workgroup = DOMAIN
security = domain

There is a new kit for Samba/VMS version 2.2.4, as usual at
www.pi-net.dyndns.org/anonymous/jyc/
The new files are dated 18-sep-2002.
This new kit fixes a number of things that were told to me (mostly thru this
list).
First, I included the fixes that Mr George Watson was kind enough to send to
