Hi,
I've been going nuts for the last couple of days with the issue of migrating
from MDK 9.1/Samba 2.2.8a to MDK 10.0/Samba 3.02a.
The backend is LDAP.
Going through the documentation it seemed like everything would be sort of
simple:
Install new machine, setup smb.conf as BDC, rsync every

in the process of Making a Domain Member,
the password of the ordinary user is no

of the smbpasswd not the /etc/passwd.
Can use the ordinary user password for authentication?
Thanks.

Hello everyone.
Does anyone know if you can use Samba to send messages over the network
using Windows' Messenger service (which uses mailslots which are part of the SMB
protocol - hence why I ask) in the same was as using 'NET SEND' on a Windows machine?
If the answer is no, does anyone know if
httpd failed. The error was: Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use:
make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down

Hi
I work for an NGO in South Africa and am trying to configure a Samba server,

Thanks a lot. I reenabled it (allow bind_v2) and it works. Should have read

Well the pdfprint script is a frontend to ps2pdf. I used it but it keeps
the clients waiting at the print screen until the script finishes (it does
not que the print jobs). I've been trying to get all things to work via
lpd but I have a hard time doing so.
