[Samba] Cannot Print from DOS
Hi list, Last week i installed an EPSON FX 2180 in my samba server (RH 9.0, SAMBA 2.2.8) and shared it. The thing is that i cant print from clients when im using a DOS application. I tried from the command shell with something like c: dir lpt1 , where lpt1 is the port where the client has the printer mapped. Then i tried from WORD, and it printed perfectly. Any ideas?? [Samba] Paradox+Samba
Hi all... Last monday i migrated form novell 4.0 to Samba 3.0 PDC. The server acts as a file server for 30 workstations (Win2000) using an aplicattion that combines clipper (with .dbf files) and delphi (uses paradox .px and .db). Its perfomance has been very poor since i changed the server. Well, the box is more much powerfull than the old one (it is a amd XP 2000+, 256mb RAM, 3Com 3C905 100base-T ). First of all, if you are only doing file sharing, you don't need a PDC setup. Second, I assume that your current Samba server is a different box than your old Novell server. If this is the case, is the new server a lot less powerful than the old? Is it on a different network segment? Are you using a 10base-T NIC where you were using a 100base-T? [Samba] Cant Join Win2K clients to Samba Domain
Hi all. Ive been trying to join win2k clients to a samba domain controller, but i cant. i followed some turorials (especially the ibm one),but i got no success. Firstly i create the machine account manually from the samba pdc. the, when i add the client from windows, it asks me for the name and the password of an admin user. I enter it and then, the message of welcome to the *** domain appears. I restart the machine, but then, when i try to logon against the domain, i get an error like this: The trust relationship between this workstation and the domain controller failed (the message may change a little, because im using a spanish version of windows) Some details: PDC OS system: redhat 9.0 Samba Version: 2.2.7 Client OS: Win 2000 (spanish) SP 3 Samba is in user security level, with encryption = yes I ve already joined win98 clients with no problems. but i cant do it with the ones with win 2k. does anyone knows how to solve it?
