[Samba] Information about sessions of logged in users.
Hi Guys. I have a question if the samba stores information about sessions of users logged in a domain? Or this information exists only in the workstations the users has logged in? Thanks in advance. -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba

In the samba logs you can find when connections are opened/closed to shares (I think you need at least log level 1): 2013/06/26 14:51:20.491944, 1, pid=10035] smbd/service.c:1114(make_connection_snum) 10.1.0.254 (10.1.0.254) connect to service homedirs initially as user MUC\muehlfeld (uid=1061, gid=513) (pid 10035) And the output of smbstatus. [Samba] Information needed,, wide open to ideas.. ACL's
I'm looking to migrate to samba4 AD domain from samba3 but this will not happen over night, I plan on slowly migrating which brings me to acl issues, I will be creating a new domain but still need to have a single data store. IS this something that can just have a domain trust built? Can I somehow mount the data on the new domain and stay relatively close to the acls that are currently in place? NFS, smbfs? I'm hoping for some direction or best practice in a scenario like this.. Give me possible items to research, possible scenarios etc.. I am completely open to ideas. [Samba] Information about password complexity for users
Hello, I want to use crackcheck to check password complexity, but users (when password change failed) gets only information about valid password length, password history. I think that may be a problem for users. How can I (or Can I?) give them information about expected complexity. Crackcheck exits with error -4, and writes information to stderr, maybe can I use that and send it somehow to the client or force Windows XP to display standard message about password complexity? Regards and many thanks. Radek -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba

Re: [Samba] Information required on mounting Windows shared folders on Unix s ystems
You can't mount a windows share onto Solaris, because Solaris don't have kernel drivers for it. You can do it on a Linux based system though. /Patrik On Mon, 2004-02-23 at 13:14, Chalamalasetti Sreedhar, Noida wrote: Hi, I am new to this Samba. I'm thinking about upgrading our NT4-clients to XP in the near future and I want to know how well XP is supported by SAMBA in the recent samba-versions. I found many single statements in usenet, but I wonder if there is a kind of XP-FAQ out there. (The one at samba-page is very outdated) Especially I need to know how well XP integrates in a existing NT4-domain (samba as PDC). Then I need to know if there are any problems with fileservers (I remember rumours about reghacks one has to apply on XP to make things work) And finally - if a machine is not part of the domain (guest-laptop): if a local XP-user with user/pass similar than on samba-server is sufficient for auth on the sambaserver ? thnx, peter -- mag. peter pilsl IT-Consulting tel: +43-699-1-3574035 fax: +43-699-4-3574035 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba

Dear Authorities, Could you please inform me the default port used by the Samba. I think I am facing some error using Samba due to the default port used by Samba being unavilable on my Unix Server.
