In my opinion this is a completly un-acceptable way to install drivers
to a print server.
Im sure the Greyed out'ness is caused by some obscure registry
setting MS has added in one of the latest patches to XP to further
hinder anyone useing a samba server.

 WHY CANT WE JUST PUT THE DAMN FILES ON THE FUCKING FILESYSTEM LIKE
EVERY NORMAL APPLICATION WOULD?!   Oh, well that would be entirely
too easy.

The difficulty is not really in the installing of drivers.
It's in the debugging process when things go wrong (as you
can see).

How can I configure samba to upload a particular driver when installing a 
printer shared. (cups + samba 3 + cups-pdf). 

In my particular case, I share a cups-pdf virtual printer and I would like 
samba to send the HP Color Laserjet 8500 PS driver when I connect to it.

I've searched the web but didn't find any clear answer. It seems that a lot of 
things are depreciated now, so please give me the tips or an updated howto 
page for doing this !!

Yes, I can.

Do you have a line like

Yes I have.

I made some tests with other computers (Thanks GSX server !) And it works, but
