I would not recommend using the same name for the PDC and the domain on a
Windows or Samba network.
Not only is this not 'recommended' - the practice of doing this is
broken. Domain names and machine names must not be the same, doing so
causes serious name-space problems when using NetBIOS protocols (NetBT).
