Paul, Here's what I've done but I'm still receiving the same error message: 1) I've removed the domain admin user domain admin group from the smb.conf file 2) I've switched from the smbpasswd backend to tdbsam 3) I've changed smbpasswd to smbpassw.old 4) I've added the root user to the tdbsam
