I'm using RedHat 9.0 and it works, here is what my files look like - /etc/pam.d/login looks like this - The authconfig tool in RedHat did everything except the pam_mkhomedir.so bit. #%PAM-1.0 auth required pam_securetty.so auth sufficient pam_UNIX.so use_first_pass auth
