Hi,
I've installed Samba a few times, and I always have the same problem -
except now I really want to get rid of it.
My Samba server is very, very, very slow on occations (not always), and
some times it's really annoying.
What happens is that it doesn't seem to be online for a period of 5-10
Any chance you can try 2.2.7a, we fixed a number of transfer problems

Ah remember also to check the network (try an ftp transfer from both w2k
and debian, it has happened many times that a bad cambling, network

Title: RE: [Samba] Using the right network interface
Sorry Eric, I'm talking about Windows DOMAIN/WORKGROUPS .
One interface will have a different Domain to the other .
eg.
eth0 Domain - DomainA
eth1 Domain - DomainB
I was just wondering if nmbd will work properly.
Thanks

2. smbcacls is not format-compatible with getfacls.
the second seems to be a short-term solution that would work nicely.
Following the suggestion of Tony BT I'm planning to write a Perl script
to get the output of smbcacls for each file and convert it to the
appropriate chown/setfacl commands
