I'm using samba4 rc1 since 2 months as PDC with samba4 internal DNS.
Everything works but i can't ping domain clients even from samba
machine. Clients are named as station00x.domain.lan where x is station
number. But even on SambaPDC i can't ping it with for exapmle:
ping
Checked in snap in remote dns management and only hosts A records
visible are for server and my machine with remote tools. All others does
not appear on list.
My resolv.conf look like that:
nameserver 172.23.198.20
search 4lo.czest.pl.lan
domain 4lo.czest.pl.lan
I made a step from debug dns
are updated correctly.

I want to upgrade rc1 to final. What are correct steps to do it?
Downaload, build, install in the same dir and then:
/usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset
Is that all? Or any other steps are required?

It look like everything works ok. Will see dns in few days. GPO, login
scripts work, so useres don't even notice change!

I use Samba 4.0.9 and want to disable strong passwords. I've run:
./samba-tool domain passwordsettings set --complexity=off
But it seems to not work. If users try to change password via
ctrl+alt+del windows still require strong password. Restarting samba to
commit change did not solve

I use DNSMasq on OpenWRT router, OpenWRT provides also DHCP. Another
linux box works as PDC with Samba 4. Everything seems to be ok except
Internal DNS. Whole Domain (60 machines) works ok but only Domain
Controler created it's account in dns.
How can i diagnose problem? Maybe it

How can i remotely shutdown machines joined to Samba4 PDC? I tried:
$ net rpc shutdown -C comment -I IPADDRESS -U USERNAME%PASSWORD
using domain admin username and account but it does not work. I was only
able to shutdown 1 XP machine. Vista and 7 didn't work. Do i have to add

Any infos about update from 4.0.9?
Regular way:
- download
- ./configure
- make
- make install
or some other way? I use 4.0.9 on production server with only 120
clients machines but i don't want to start over configuration.
