I've attempted to create a Windows Server 2003 Native AD/Samba3 hybrid
network (for curiosity's sake). Read extensively through all resources I
could find and from what I can tell, I've set everything up as it should
be.
The Samba3 server properly authenticates to the Windows Server 2003 kdc,

We are using samba with domain authentication against a windows AD.
The account domain is AA.
All our hosts (windows and samba systems) and a few generic user accounts
are in a domain TT which trust the accounts from AA.
In Short our smbd.conf has:

workgroup = TT
. . .

I have a LiveCD accessing Samba shares nicely (after providing
credentials) but upon installation of the OS the system can no
longer access the share (keeps asking for credentials). I feel that
this is because the domain server set up an identity automatically
during the initial access and that
path = /srv/www/htdocs/public/uploaded_files/
write list = wwwrun, peter, robb, mike
force user = wwwrun
force group = www
create mask = 0666
directory mask = 0666
I know it's not much to go on, but does anyone have any ideas?

For what it's worth I finally got the Add Printer wizard working with
Samba 2.2.6 at the Unix end and Windows NT as the client. But it was a hell
of a struggle! Don't know if it works with Samba 2.2.5 and/or Windows XP.
BTW I don't see an add printer command in your smb.conf extract - don't
clients, if
the domain controller is still operating in NT4 mode. (With an AD DC,
you apparently need to use Group Policies.) I haven't tried it,
myself, but that's what my local poledit guru just told me.

The printer install feature works here with NT workstations and Samba
2.2.6 as the server. Samba is not the PDC but I don't see why that should
matter. Have you uploaded the NT printer drivers as well as the W2K drivers?

I am trying to access an NT location from my Solaris 2.8
unix server and cannot seem to succeed even thogh the userid/passwords
are in sync:
this is what I get
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
any suggestions?

inthe password server I had the IP address changed it to the name of the
machine was abale to get users and groups from the nt domain conroller.
A problem I am having now is when I am trying ./wbinfo -r user Could not
get groups for user peter
