Hi to the ex-sane. I am finding the ammount of time I am spending trying to fix the canoscan FB630U backend is more than scanner functions are worth to me. I am looking at buying a newer scanner with negative scan capability. (To replace my zero scan capability!) Having been let down by

There is no command that would reset (or not reset) the sensor assembly, this is all done automatically: The backend sends a scan command, and the scanner performs all other steps automatically. Do you still have the old kernel around? Does the scanner still work w/out any problems if you run
