Actually, I take it back about the suspected issues with the digital
camera over USB... seems to behave just fine.

I'm still struggling with trying to get this Epson Perfection 3490 to
work even basically (a couple of poeople on this list seem to have it
working at a basic level, at least, so any help would be appreciate).
What I've done thus far:
I removed all the existing sane packages via the Synaptic p
Okay, a little more headway:
I installed the Epson iScan package from
http://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_scan.html
After converting it to a .deb, I installed it with --force-overwrite and
it installed.
The scanner *still* seems to be resetting every few seconds and getting
a new USB devi
ig to
add it, but hasn't seemed to change behavior.
Anybody have any thoughts?
