Xscanimage works only as root. Scanner doesn't actually scan. The
reading head doesn't move, just gives a nasty sound. Scan that comes to
preview window is white with some black in it.

I am using debian (testing) and kernel 2.6.24.2. I have a new scanner
Canon lide 25. I can't get it work with frontends. It only works with
scanimage. Xsane doesn't find neither does anything else.
Can you help me?
Jarmo
I made a script that loads the module from build directory every boot.
This way the module loads perfectly. I don't know why it doesn't load
correctly from where it is installed and I'm tired looking answers.

I got the module loaded and scanimage -L gives:
device `plustek_pp:/dev/pt_drv0' is a Plustek 9636T/12000T flatbed scanner
But no graphical frontend finds it.

/pt_drv, I have none of the other numbered ones either.

I'm posting this once more and if this doesn't get solved I'm putting hammer
through that scanner.

I have problem with plustek module. First the module installs ok and the
scanner works fine, then after boot the device nodes have disappeared.
I think this happens because it doesn't support udev. Is there a way to
fix this?
