Hello Wilhelm,
Thank you for your help and your effort!
In the end it seem to be a hardware problem. The button on the front
does not work any more - I disassembled the device and measured it out
on the board.
However, I will by another adf scanner and know now how to setup scanbd.
Thanks agai

Well, that code in the backend predates scanbd by a decade. So,
perhaps it is more fair to say it's a pity scanbd did not exist sooner
:) It looks like a pretty easy backend to change, and we accept

A quick read of the the hp backend code indicates that it attempts to
manage its own buttons. When you start a scan with --button-wait, the
backend blocks and polls the button. I don't think you see the option
from scanbd. The backend would have to be modified.

# scanbd -fd -c /usr/local/etc/scanbd/scanbd.conf
and I see 28 (output says 29) options for my

Hello Wilhelm,
Thanks for the response and your great work on scanbd!
I did not find out how to reply online, so I try it this way.
Following the relevant part of my syslog you requested. Sounds like I
have privilege issues somewhere.
I will play around a bit while awaiting your response. Maybe

Hello,
I am trying to get my button of a HP ScanJet 6200C to work under Debian.
I already posted a message on
http://sourceforge.net/projects/scanbd/forums/forum/897647/topic/6066075
but got no reply.
On the scanbd page the SANE support is linked as page for support
questions. So this is my la
