I have added a new test to frontend/tstbackend . When enabled, the
tstfrontend program loops calling sane_get_devices() function and print
detected devices each second, until a given time elapsed. This way you
can plug/unplug/replug scanners and see if they are correctly repor

I've just buy a new printer, and for it to work with sane, I had to
change two thinks to libsane conf files:
I added
# Samsung SCX-3400
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04e8", ATTRS{idProduct}=="344f", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
to the udev rules, and
#Samsung SCX-3400
usb 0x04e8 0x344f
to the xero
In the default settings of the Epson Perfection 1250 scanner is a param
called:
Warming time (Dutch: opwarmtijd).
In current version the value is 0.
But since the scanner needs some time to warm up, the scanner does NOT work.
When setting this to eg 10 (seconds), then the scanner works fine.
