I have the same scanner and am also trying to make it work. I dug around
in the source, and I think it would take a bit of modification of the
genesys driver etc... to make it work (not much). I sent out an e-mail to
the developers who are listed as maintainers of the LiDE drivers, and
might be able to use Rolf's PPA for this, per recent

I bought a Canon LIDE120 a few years ago and have been watching the
development of the driver on the sane-devel list since then. It seems to
have quieted off recently, so I thought I'd give the scanner another shot
in Linux.
