In line with the spirit of the original speaker ???????, the second half means that being a Vaidika, (having learnt Veda-s or being Vedic roots) he may acquire some times have Guna-s virtues (good character) and sometime prosperity (wealth). {But it is rare to find the combination of both in a location both grammatically, and in real life.) Both could not take place in the same vowel, at a time, but in turn or succession only. And in real life, it is a common experience that as wealth accumulates, ordinary man is apt to sacrifice generosity and other virtuous qualities in pursuit of money. Of course, there may be rare exceptions. Thanks and regards -- Hari Narayana Bhat B.R. EFEO, PONDICHERRY -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... But his work superseded the others and survives till today due to its scientific design in the description of the Sanskrit Language. ??????????????? ???????????????? ????????? ??????????????????? ??????????????????????? Indra, Candra, Kashakrishna, Apishali, ShaakaTaayana, Amara, Jainendra and Panini are the eight grammarians enumerated in the above list. There are several later grammars for Sanskrit composed in the attempt to simplify the grammar, but none of them could not succeed in the well planned Paninian Grammar. Again, Tantra is a totally different subject which has got its own tradition and founders of the different schools of Tanta. And, Grammar is a subject dealing with the structure of the Sanskrit Language in general and not any technical usage of it. Even Vedic usages are roughly described, but mostly it is accepted as it found used in the Vedic Literature. It should be clear by now, that by all means, Tantra is beyond the scope of Panini's work and I don't know how much can be expected from it relating to the mystic syllables or "?????????"-s which are dealt with in their proper domains in the works like Sharada-tilaka of Sharada. Only the relation can be that both use the same Sanskrit language, with specialization in their respective fields Grammar and Tantara. With regards -- Hari Narayana Bhat B.R.
