Developer (Application Support Organization)*

Tandem HP Non-Stop - Senior Developer (Application Support Organization)



*BASIC PURPOSE:*

•                    Provide technical skill and leadership to support
Tandem HP Non-Stop applications and subsystems

•                    Troubleshoot and resolve user reported incidents
supporting 24/7 business operations of Warehouse Management, Order Entry,
and Supply Chain systems

•                    Apply technical knowledge and experience to solve high
priority issues, and drive efforts to improve application and system
performance and overall platform stability

•                    Provide technical guidance and collaboration to user
community and teammates

•                    Design and code hardening and stabilization solutions
in accordance with ITIL practices of Incident, Problem, and Change taking
reported issues from root cause investigation through final production
install and verification

•                    Communicate direct with Users, ASO Leads, and Sr.
Management regarding issue status

•                    Operate as Issue Owner when identifying and managing
solutions and hardening efforts



*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:

•                    Identify long term solutions and immediate workarounds
to open issues and problems

•                    Maintain, tune, and repair applications in a proactive
manner to keep them performing as designed in accordance with technical and
functional specifications

•                    Configure, design, code, and test program modules to
meet design specifications as required and update code to address defects,
change requests, or small enhancements

•                    Respond to User inquiries and Incidents to achieve
user level service expectations, platform stability, and stable IT services
in-line with SLA objectives

•                    Provide direction and resolution for complex Tandem
Non-Stop application and technical issues including issues related to
networks, servers, or workstations

•                    Work directly with End Users, IT staff, or 3rd party
vendors to resolve service issues

•                    Track, monitor, and report progress on assignments;
update HPSM activity logs in a timely manner; document and track case
history, input issues and actions taken in a clear and timely manner to
communicate status, and meet resolution expectations

•                    Escalate issues according to established
communications guidelines and checklists

•                    Create, communicate, and update system and application
documentation as required

•                    Ensure all business and IT standards are met applying
ASO policies and best practices

•                    Create required HPSM Request for Change documentation
to support assigned production changes including documented testing to
ensure applications and environmental requirements are achieved along with
expected performance levels

•                    Perform pre and post-installation and system readiness
reviews and ongoing support



*RELATIONSHIPS:*

•                    Work regularly with ASO and Development Leads and
Management levels.

•                    Problem communicate to Director and VP levels and
across IT and business organization

•                    Work extensively with ASO Leads an Teammates and
Solution Architects when needed

•                    Problem solves across entire Business organization
guided by Subject Matter Experts

•                    Interact with IT Vendors, Consultants, or 3rd Party
Technical resources when required



*QUALIFICATIONS:*

•                    Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Business or
related field, or appropriate technical training and/or equivalent job
experience (5 yrs experience in Information Technology)

•                    5 years’ experience or more working with Tandem HP
Guardian Non-Stop technology



*REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:*

•                    SQL, TMF, Netbatch, TACL, COBOL, SCOBOL, Pathway,
Guardian Utilities



*PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:*

•                    RMS, XML, MS Office (Word, Excel), FTP, TAL, Golden
Gate, Tibco, Oracle

•                    5 Years or more of progressively responsible
experience in IT system development

•                    Independent application planning, analysis, design,
and life cycle development

•                    Career concentration in Financial Systems or Warehouse
Management Systems

•                    Previous experience troubleshooting complex IT
application-related problems

•                    Skilled experience with managing day to day multiple
and changing priorities

•                    Ability to work and communicate effectively with all
levels of Business / IT management

•                    Design and negotiate acceptable solutions to complex
problems across multiple business systems and/or technical areas or vendors

•                    Excellent communication and organizational skill with
ability to run projects effectively

•                    Ability to manage dynamic work load, team lead small
projects, and mentor junior staff

•                    Strong analytical skills capable of understanding and
documenting business processes and functional specifications

•                    Capable of understanding and documenting functional
business requirements and communicating the information through
presentation to IT and business teams
