*Need: *SOA Service Architect
*Location:* New Hudson, MI
*Duration: *Long Term
SOA Service Architect to design Common Services.
*Top Three Items of Interest:*
1. *Distributed software design experience using Java platform* (IBM) or
equivalent . Service Oriented Architecture Design using WS-Security,
*SOAP/HTTP/REST*, WSDL, XML/XSD (Schemas), MQ or equivalent technologies
(5+ years)
2. Author design documentation, such as *Use Cases/Stories*, Software
Architecture, WSDL, Schemas, source system backend integration, Service
Level Agreements.
3.*Guide a small team (1-4) of developers* through full software lifecycle
documentation (5+ Years).
*Summary of Requirements:*
- Required 5+ years design experience with *IBM WebSphere Java or*
equivalent
environment
- Required 5+ years design experience with *Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA)* and services design.
- Required 5+ years design experience of distributed systems with a
focus on backend integration and orchestration of services
- Required excellent written and oral communication skills with
technical and business teams.
- Required ability to propose, document, and implement software project
lifecycle solutions (software and documentation)
- Required ability to think and operate at an enterprise level
- Required ability to translate/interpret business requirements to
technical requirements and deliverables
- Required Minimum 5 years overall experience *leading development team
(1-4 developers)*
- Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
preferred.
- Required documentation of *user cases/stories, flows, logical models,
physical models*
- Required *agile project lifecycle experience* on at least one project.
*Preferred Skills:*
- Preferred 4+ years design experience with *WSDL, XML, XSD and/or XSLT*
design
- Preferred experience with *IBM Websphere Java environment*
- Preferred IBM *Websphere Message Broker* or equivalent
- Preferred experience delivering SOA solutions by integrating
applications and services (WSDL/Schema/SOAP/REST any combination of)
- Preferred message queue design or equivalent (IBM MQ preferred)
- Preferred Test Driven Development experience
- Preferred ability to create conceptual models and conceptual solutions
- Preferred Delivery experience in *SOA project space*
- Preferred Java and/or IBM Message Broker development experience.
- Preferred IBM *Data Power appliance* as part of a SOA solution.
*Role/Responsibilities*
- *Lead small team of developers (1-4*) from inception to deployment in
the software development lifecycle. This is not a development position,
but an architect and development lifecycle lead position.
- Representative for Common Services team to the project and business
personnel.
- Completes software services designs for new implementations and
enhancements based on approved design specifications
- Ensure implementations are properly documented within source and in
design documents.
- Ensure implementations are up to current standards for coding, naming,
security, and versioning. This includes reviewing each class that was
altered as a bare minimum.
- Ensure implementations are adequately tested by automated tests and
asserted correctly
- Use software design patterns (Singleton, Factory, Command, and
Delegate as examples). Any patterns will do. Candidate needs to demonstrate
usage of design patterns.
- Ensure configurations work in all environments from development to
production by working with engineering and operations teams.
- Prepare deployment documentation for software and its dependencies
- Troubleshoot issues with implementations and support testing.
- Report status of all responsibilities to their project team.
- Execute Test Driven Development.
- Issues and defect tracking.
- Maintain *SCM version control* for the project
- Create appropriate technical documentation to standards (software
design documentation, flows, sequence diagrams, class diagrams)
- Author and execute testing including but not limited to unit tests,
integration Tests, performance tests
- Coordinate with the consumers to resolve the issues related to
accessing the services.
- Prepare promotion documents for the deployments.
- Test the Services in Dev, QA and Prod environments.
- Code Reviews (facilitating for developer(s))
- Design to company Common Services standards, patterns, and framework.
- Unit, integration, and performance test the code ensuring appropriate
coverage
- Work on other technical design documents. E.g.: Non functional,
Service Level Agreements
- Coordinate environment setup with engineering and operational teams.
