Location: CHARLOTTE NC Start Date: May-17-10 End Date: Dec-17-10 Primary Skills: UNIX # of Years Required: 6-8 Secondary Skills: Distributred Server # of Years Required: 8-10 *Job Purpose/ Description:* • Directly responsible for infrastructure solutions and products for the distributed server environment (e.g,. Unix servers) such as operating systems, authentication technologies, server hardware and peripherals, and standard operational shrink-wrapped software (e.g. backup, scheduling, management). • Provides 2nd level support to the IT support teams. • Provides support for migrations to new infrastructures, technologies and/or solutions in the distributed server environment. • Participates in technology reviews for proposed business and infrastructure application implementations. *Tasks and Responsibilities:* • UNIX System Administration for Solaris Operating Systems and Sun hardware. • Plan and Support corporate Solaris consolidation/refresh initiative including physical to zone and Solaris to Linux migrations. • Build Sun/Solaris infrastructure on an as needed basis. • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on systems problem resolution activities and tools. • Develop partnerships with engineering, operations, and application development groups. • Report on progress to technical lead, project manager and technology management. • Provide secondary support on VMware migration project on an as needed basis. *Required education/experience:* • 7+ years experience of Sun/Solaris administration (OS/hardware) • 5+ years experience of Linux/Intel administration (OS/hardware) • 3+ years experience with Solaris 10, zones, flash archive technology • 3+ years experience with shell scripting Working Knowledge (Nice to Have): • VMware ESX 3.5/4.0 • Veritas clustering • Systems management technologies (e.g. Tivoli Framework/related products) • LAN/WAN technologies and network protocols (e.g. routers, switches, TCP/IP) • SAN/NAS technologies (preferably Hitachi, NetApp) • Database technologies (e.g. Oracle) • UNIX high availability (HACMP, Veritas clustering) General skills (Required): • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Able to produce technical documentation • Ability to work on a team or independently in a fast paced dynamic environment • Willing to write detailed documentation and adhere to corporate standards/change management policies • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required • Professional certifications (e.g. Solaris) are a plus ** -- Regards, Shankar 248-522-6879 Technology consultanst inc -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
