Supporting this operational complexity requires an outstanding IT Applications Development team. The Sr DevOps Engineer position, reporting to our Sr Director, Web/Mobile App Development in the IT Application Development team, will play a critical role in ensuring that the deployment of our Mobile and Desktop based web applications is successful. You will work in a flexible, fast-paced change environment here in our Reston, VA headquarters. You will be a Hands-on engineer, collaboratively learning, planning, designing, implementing, and operating under modern best practices in DevOps. Every day, you will work with Microsoft Server architectures and AWS Cloud platform, implementing and supporting infrastructure setup for deployment automation(CI). You will be heavily engaged with configuration management and related tools integration, and to be successful you must be able to script in a Windows environment using powershell and IIS configuration. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with developers, QA and product owners. You will be part of our agile release process team, and you will be positioned to grow your career as we grow the business. *LOCATION* This position is located in Reston, VA; it is not a remote or telework opportunity. EDUCATION Required Bachelor’s Degree in related field Preferred Degree in Computer Science or Engineering emphasis *EXPERIENCE* *Required* 5+ years of experience as a DevOpsEngineer or a related DevOps or engineering position This experience must include: • Extensive experience with deployment automation, PowerShell or BASH. • Use of Build Management tools like VSTS(Visual Studio Team Services,) Jenkins,Teamcity or similar • Configuration management utiliing tools like Puppet or Chef • Installing, Configuring, Administering, and Tuning of IIS Application Servers • Deploying and automating infrastructure/applications in cloud environment • Working cross functionally to insure timely product releases *Preferred* *Experience that includes:* • AWS Cloud Platform • Build Automation with VSTS(Visual Studio Team Services) or Jenkins • Supporting IIS web application clustered environments • Supporting SQL Server high-availablity environments • Server and application monitoring tools and scripting BENEFITS Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in one of the following: Computer Science, Mathematics, or Science/Engineering As part of its total compensation strategy, Specialists On Call provides its employees with a comprehensive benefits package.
