*Location: * ** *Los Angeles, California* *Duration: 9 months* Client is seeking a performance focused QA engineer who will develop and execute performance test strategies for our products. The position, Performance QA Engineer, requires technical skills to design and develop tools, frameworks and test harness to do performance testing and data analysis. They are a key part of the development process, working and coding with architects and software development engineers through the entire product life cycle. *Job Duties:* • Develop and implement performance test strategy and plans. • Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend mitigation measures. • Recommend solutions involving *performance tuning and code optimization* . • Build test framework, benchmark strategy and comprehensive test harness for performance testing using various tools such as Apache JMeter, *HP Load Runner* , JUnit, Test NG, and Load UI. • Create tools and develop new features to continuously strengthen the test harness. • Analyze system performance reports, perform code reviews and take necessary proactive measures to improve overall product quality. *Qualifications:* • 5 years’ experience in Java programming and/or *performing automated* UI, API, performance, functional and integration testing in a data driven, high traffic website and/or enterprise environment. • Strong SQL programming skills • Knowledgeable in Web Applications frameworks • Good knowledge of Agile or other iterative methodologies and general software development best practices • Willing to learn, experiment, and implement a wide range of technologies pertaining to the web, telephony and messaging • BS degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent work experience • Prior experience profiling, performance engineering and optimizing applications. • Well versed with tools and technologies such as jProfiler, JConsole, JMeter, *Load Runner* , SQL developer tool, shell or Perl scripting and front end web technologies – CSS, JS, HTML, and HTTP. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Demonstrated passion for quality and willingness to work hand-in-hand with developers.
