(Consultant need to be local for any of these locations and should have more than 5 years of US Experience) *JOB DESCRIPTION: *Title: Hadoop/Cloudera “expert” The candidate would be knowledgeable with the following: • Ingestion Jobs: o Moving data into Hive tables using dynamic partitions for query o Automating the ingestion using Oozie workflows o Using Sqoop / Flume to move data into Hadoop o Experience with Linux shell scripting • Creating Reports: o Running Hive and Pig Queries to generate reports for the team. o Write a Map Reduce programs using Java needed o Create UDFs or UDAFs for Hive when necessary • Emerging Capabilities: o Moving data into HBase tables and querying data via APIs o Implementation of machine learning tools like Oryx and Mahout and experience with diverse algorithms / methodologies o Ingest data into Solr (Cloudera Search) or Elasticsearch / Kibana Very senior software developers with a current specialty in C#/.NET/ASP/SQL and significant hands-on experience with the latest versions of those technologies. I want people who want to—and can—produce excellent code themselves, not people who have primarily managed coders. Plusses include experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript, TFS, and TeamPulse, familiarity with Agile software development methodology, and some knowledge of content management systems, especially DotNetNuke. Candidates can expect incisive questioning about specific skills and experience. A successful candidate will be enthusiastic, responsive, and self-assured, someone who will leave the interviewers with the clear impression of a person who can make strong, self-started, value-added contributions to the team.
