Client is looking for *Embedded Application Developer * for a 1 year
contract in Plano, TX.
*Job Title: Embedded Application Developer (socket) *
*Location: Plano, TX.*
*Duration: 1 Year contract*
*Key - Redundancy, high availability, switchover for HW components.*
*Overview: Working within a multi-disciplinary project team, you will apply
your software and system engineering skills to contribute to the successful
development and support of Tektronix' market leading telecommunications
network management products. Tektronix' Network Management Business enables
the world's largest network operators build, deploy and manage current and
advanced communication networks, including fixed, mobile, IP and converged
multi-service networks. These solutions monitor more than 30% of the
world's calls and their network diagnostic and performance monitoring
solutions are installed in more than 100 carrier and cable networks in over
40 countries.*
*Key Responsibilities*: You will be responsible for developing and
maintaining advanced embedded real-time monitoring applications for
telecommunications and data networks. You will take part in all aspects of
the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design,
implementation, peer review, testing, integration, configuration
management, and troubleshooting. You will work as an integral member of a
self-directed agile development team employing a Scrum-based methodology.
*General Qualifications:*
Excellent communication, interpersonal, technical and
organizational skills
Strong general programming and problem solving skills.
Proactive nature willing to take initiative and seek challenges in
technical areas that may be completely new
Ability to view software from an Architectural and System
perspective
Ability to trace down and troubleshoot problems within a system
Work well both individually and as a productive member of an agile
development team.
Thorough understanding of the role and importance of documentation
at each level of the development process, including requirements, design,
coding and testing
*Technical Qualifications:*
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (CS, CE, EE). Masters preferred.
* 8+ years experience developing SW (C, C++) for Embedded Processor
systems including architecture, design specification, coding, testing,
support, etc.*
* Multi-threaded and multi-processor system development, preferably
multi-blade Linux platforms.*
* Experience with real time, embedded, multithreaded applications.*
Proficiency operating in Linux-based Operating Systems such as
Debian, RHEL, Suse, etc.
Proficiency in Unix shell scripting as well as higher level
scripting languages (Perl, Python, Ruby)
*Preferred Qualifications:*
*Client/Server development (socket programming).*
* High Performance programming for High Speed networks.*
* Redundancy, high availability, switchover for HW components.*
