They’d like to hire someone who is a guru with the Pentaho tool. The Pentaho product is used to streamline the data preparation and analytics process. Specifically, it extracts, integrates and analyzes nearly 20 terabytes of data. Every day, the client, blends and analyzes over 15 billion financial data transactions, with an outlook of daily growth by the millions. The client is looking to hire someone who can help support the growth of their data. They’ll consider hiring someone remotely who can work from home. *Client is looking for a data warehouse engineer that:* · Experience working with ETL (using tools such as Pentaho) in multi-terabyte data warehouses. · Experience in dealing with performance and scaling issues. · Follows the DevOps path to enlightenment · Nostalgic memories of the first time they installed Linux · Strong database (MySQL, Postgres, etc) and SQL skills · Experience with/or passion about Map/Reduce programming, and Hadoop (Hive, Pig, Flume) · Experience with Java · Experience in scripting languages like perl/python/bash. · 2+ years data warehousing and BI systems (includes data modeling, ETL architectures, and OLAP).
