Position: Sr. Clarion Developer Location: Rochester, NY 14694 Duration: 7+ Months (Long Term) seeking software developers with deep CLARION programming language experience who will fit into our fun, high-energy, results-driven, team-oriented, self-motivated organization. In this role, you will learn from experts, collaborate with key business and technical personnel to implement solutions in support of product initiatives. We utilize Agile and custom methods which value daily cooperation within and across teams above all else. We are seeking to enhance, update and possibly upgrade a content development system currently compiling in Clarion v6, using the Clarion v8 IDE. Ideal candidates will have a strong ability in enhancing pre-existing Clarion systems and also have experience in modernizing Clarion software applications. Other Key Technologies Utilized on this Project: - C#/.NET (familiarity with ASP.NET <http://asp.net/> MVC also useful) - Experience with TPL a bonus - Inversion of Control (experience with Unity preferred) - Web Services, REST, JSON, AJAX - JavaScript, JQuery - XML, HTML, CSS - MVC & Inversion of Control - MS Team Foundation Server (TFS) & Team Build - Unit Test Frameworks Other Relevant Technologies: - Multi-Threaded Programming - JPA / Hibernate - SQL, RDBMS (Oracle) - Oracle Coherence - Tomcat - XSLT Key Responsibilities: - Develop and integrate software on cutting edge and growing platforms - Fulfill tasks as a member of an agile team, using agile practices (e.g. peer reviews and paired programming, daily stand up meetings) - Be able to experiment with and adopt industry and team techniques (e.g. follow test-first TDD practices) - Be able to proactively adapt to new technologies and changing requirements - Participate in requirement and design reviews with business partners and other engineers - Investigate and resolve issues in development, test and production environments - Provide timely communication of status to project leaders in oral and written formats - Effectively balance and prioritize multiple projects concurrently Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: • Practice and robust knowledge of the Windows desktop/server technology stack. • Experience with Object Oriented designs and patterns • Acceptance of personal responsibility to impact results and deliver on commitments • Able to work independently and as part of a team on multiple overlapping projects • Detail oriented, a self-starter and a strong team player • Demonstration of self-motivation, ability to learn quickly and to apply know-how to solutions • Ability to present technical topics to a technical or non-technical audience • Experience and/or a willingness to work in a fast paced Agile software development environment Responsible for initial design and development of new software or extensive software revisions; products may be for use internally or for resale. Defines product requirements and creates high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.
