The Corporate Internet Group (CIG) supports public Internet sites for many
J. P. Morgan Chase lines of business.  CIG is comprised of over 400
professionals located in Delaware, California, Washington, New York, Ohio,
Florida and Illinois and has several offshore components.  The group
consists of senior business strategists, developers, infrastructure and
architecture specialists, usability professionals, interactive designers,
editors, project support and operations staff.  CIG works closely with all
lines of business including: Auto Lending, Business Banking, Card Services,
Commercial Banking, Education Finance, Home Lending, Investing, Private
Bank, Private Client Services, Retail and Treasury.  J.P. Morgan Chase's
online sites are currently among the top ranked in the industry. CIG's goal
is to provide consistent, integrated internet applications that are
intuitive, dependable and easy to use for all customers.



This position will act as a technical member of the Unix Team within CIG
Server Operations. The job responsibilities include translating
architectural direction into concrete infrastructure designs, advising
client project teams on JPMC and CIG "best practices", OS installation and
configuration, installation and configuration of required tool-sets,
security lockdown of OS; adherence to all CIG and Corporate security
standards.  Documentation and preparation of servers for hand-off to
production engineering team is also one of the responsibilities of this
role.



*Qualifications:*

   - Plan, coordinate and perform AIX (v5+) , RHEL(v5) &  administration,
   schedule maintenance and upgrades.
   - Preventative and proactive system monitoring functions and real-time
   responses encompassing: Systems Administration, OS Level SAN
   Administration, Backup and Restore and Security Remediation.
   - Monitor and evaluate efficiency of system usage and make
   recommendations to management to improve performance.
   - Perform root cause analysis / troubleshooting for AIX, Solaris, Linux
   related issues
   - Prepare, update and maintain technical documentation
   - Process automation via scripting (Perl, shell, Expect…)
   - Prior experience with Veritas (Cluster Server, Storage Foundation) on
   Solaris.
   - Prior experience with HACMP Clustering for AIX.
   - Ability to maintain and participate in an on-call schedule.

*Preferred Job Qualifications:*

   - Minimum of 5 years of experience in an enterprise internet
   environment.
   - 3 - 5 years of Senior System Administration knowledge of AIX, and
   Redhat Linux.
   - Knowledge of virtualization technologies (AIX LPAR, Solaris zones,
   VMware).
   - Certifications preferred in IBM AIX and Redhat Linux.
   - Knowledge of UNIX core technologies as they apply to the Internet and
   Web Services technologies.
   - College degree specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
   - Deep understanding of IT roles and typical skill levels by role.
   - Knowledge of the project lifecycle and the application development
   lifecycle, role/skill relevancy by phase.
   - Knowledge using LDAP as an authentication methodology.
   - Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong collaboration
   and negotiation skills.
   - Maintain current knowledge of resource vendors and professional
   services firms in the market.
