Their primary responsibility is to work with region and office champions to extract and map data from legacy systems, and load all data into Salesforce. Must have superior analytical skills and a thorough understanding of the Salesforce CRM platform and how it has been customized for business users who use it to administer the sale of Corporate Benefits and Insurance. The data specialist is proactive in finding data discrepancies and will work with the product manager and the business to resolve issues and improve overall data quality. The specialist will lead meetings, establish migration plan timelines, hold stakeholders accountable for deadlines, and meet data deliverables on time. Duties *Data Collection and Migration.* Coordinate with office leads to collect and/or extract data into Excel migration templates and upload into Salesforce. Facilitate meetings to confirm data mappings and review gaps. Migrate data into a non-production Salesforce, coordinate with QA for their testing, and provide reports for UAT review and sign-off from the business prior to production load. *Administer support queue* and execute corrective action for data related updates. Typical process entails: Identify problem, propose solution, present solution to Product Manager in standup meeting, follow up with the regional champion to get sign-off on the corrective action, and implement the data change upon sign-off. *Data Merging -* Identify duplicate data (similar name or same company listed twice under different names), furnish report of data that needs to be merged to region champions with the duplicate for their sign-off, get approval from relevant parties accountable for downstream systems (like the commission’s team), and then implement the change. *Data Quality -* Look up and populate missing data utilizing the Avention tool and through other means. Business contact information, industry codes, annual revenue, employee head count, and other pertinent pieces of information used by end users and in reports should be available and accurate. Find and follow up on data anomalies or outliers and resolve with business and within the system. *Cross disciplinary support* across the Salesforce team (Dev, Data, Admin, and QA). Monthly maintenance releases commonly entail data migration work after hours while system changes are implemented and tested at the night of the release. Preparation for release consists of having the data updates deployed out into a non-production environment beforehand with quality assurance testing and resolution of any bugs or data fixes prior to the production release.
