In this role you will have the opportunity to work on all phases of the product development lifecycle—Design/ Architecture, Development, QA and Release/Deployment/Operations & Support—in close partnership with the VP of Product Management, VP of Engineering and other related departments.Responsibilities:• Participate in selection of new technology platforms • Assist with architecture and design of new products • Responsible for writing all or partial components of a product or platform suite in partnership with product management, developers, and other business stakeholders.• Contribute to functional specifications; writing and technical documentation .• Practice and be part of the agile development process and methodologies. • Share engineering on-call rotation responsibilities • Be flexible to address multiple and changing priorities common in startup size companies.Basic Qualifications.Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics majors preferred. MS in Computer Science a plus.Experience Requirements:• Experience with designing & building large scale web systems• Experience in building production quality, business critical systems• Web server-side (LAMP), client-side (frontend) technologies and database, SQL knowledge• LAMP—5+ years of experience developing on Linux/Unix, Apache, PHP and MySQL• Familiarity with DNS, Load balancing and database replication technologies• Frontend (HTML, HTML5, CSS, XML, XSL, JavaScript, AJAX jQuery, YUI etc)• API and web-service (REST, SOAP) design, coding and implementation• Integration experience with LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and other social web sites• Knowledge of design patterns and best practices in software engineering• Knowledge of development tools (SVN, Confluence/Jira/Wiki)• Strong sense of ownership and passion for technology• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical teams• Excellent written communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
