This includes, but is not limited to, regular backups, patches and updates, and monitoring of the SAP HANA landscape. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for Installation, Upgrade and Configuration of SAP HANA software • Responsible for SAP HANA cluster/server configurations • Responsible for creation of SAP HANA database instances. • Responsible for configuring backup / restore utilities and developing disaster recovery policies and procedures. • Responsible for setting up effective monitoring for alerts and capacity analysis. Also, tuning the database environment to insure optimal performance and resource utilization????? • Responsible for enforcing Enterprise security policies and procedures on databases • Responsible for refreshing non-production environments • Write and maintain advance shell and SQL scripts in support of database maintenance to ensure consistent database performance. Maintain solid working knowledge of the application functionality of existing Hana platforms and future enhancements. • Coordinate with SAP/Vendors to assure the availability of SAP HANA systems as regards upgrades, versions, patches, new releases. • Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members, • Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems and advanced technical support for database related activities with emphasis on root cause analysis • Participate in production deployment activities • Function as the technical liaison between Application development, support and DBA teams. Provide mentoring to fellow administrators. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in related field • Minimum of 3+ years in supporting SAP Hana databases • SUSE Linux is a plus • Knowledge of SAP HANA Scale Up/Out architectures, installation and configuration procedures. • Very good knowledge on SAP HANA internals, Backup & recovery Concepts, Performance Tuning and System Replication. • Working knowledge of hardware, including RAID, multi-processor architecture, etc. • Working knowledge of networking and how it relates to database operations and connectivity. • Advanced knowledge of shell scripting (i.e. command line applications, batch files, etc.) • Comprehension of application development processes, methodologies and techniques. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to be on call 24x7 support rotations.
