*Job Title: Network Test Engineer*

*Location: Middletown, NJ*

*Duration: 2-3 YEARS + extensions*

*Rate: $45/hr On C2C/1099*



*Must Haves:*

7+ years’ experience in testing and production support of VoIP applications

Strong understanding of the following Tier 4 VoIP protocols: SIP, IPv4 and
IPv6, DIAMETER, DNS, H.248, IPSec, TCP-IP, LDAP, RTP

Strong knowledge of Linux, KVM (kernel based virtual machine), and
OpenStack

Strong scripting skills in Python, Shell scripting, Perl, and Ansible

Familiarity with Exfo, Ixia, Teketronix Iris, and Wireshark

Previous experience with Broadsoft, Nokia, Ericsson, Metaswitch and/or
other major vendors' VoIP applications and IMS applications: Broadworks AS,
CTS, ISC, MGC8, PCM, SCG, SDM, Oracle DSR, SS8 LIG, SBG, SBC

Excellent problem solving skills and communication skills

Bachelor’s Degree

*Day to Day: *Looking for a strong Network Verification Test and Tier 4
Support Engineer for one of our largest telecom clients. This individual
will serve as the SME and will act as the single point of contact for
multiple services in VOIP application teams.  They will handle escalations
for customer/production issues from Operations (Tier 2) and Advanced
Technical Support (Tier 3) groups as well as execute Network Verification
Testing (NVT) for capacity augments and/or new features/functionalities for
the services.  The individual will be responsible for change management
governance of the VoIP network. The individual must be adept in
understanding complex enterprise-grade VoIP architectures, partnering with
peer organizations, and leading cross-functional teams in this critical
role.  The candidate should possess strong experience in network
operations, engineering, and troubleshooting. The individual must have a
strong background in layer 2 and layer 3 networking protocols, design, and
principles of data and packet based networks. However, they will be mainly
focused on tier 4 protocols such as SIP and IPv4/IPv6.



*Key Responsibilities Include:*

Looking for 4 Strong Network Test Engineers for one of our largest telecom
clients. This individual will serve as the an SME of their field, and will
be responsible for the testing and troubleshooting of large/fast paced VoIP
applications.  They will handle escalations for customer/production issues
from Operations (Tier 2) and Advanced Technical Support (Tier 3) groups as
well as execute Network Verification Testing (NVT) for capacity augments
and/or new features/functionalities for the services.  The individual will
be responsible for change management governance of the VoIP network. The
individual must be understand complex enterprise-grade VoIP architectures,
partnering with peer organizations, and leading cross-functional teams in
this critical role.  We are looking for someone with strong experience and
exposure to Linux, KVM (kernel based virtual machines) and OpenStack as the
entire group is making changes toward SDN (software defined networking).



*Other responsibilities will include:*

Responsible for Tier 4 problem and troubleshooting/diagnosis and resolution

Responsible for test planning and execution for network/field validation
testing in a large telecommunications environment.

End to End call flow testing of VoIP services which may require
coordination with other teams (Domestic and International)

Fulfilling the duties associated with customer cut-overs and migrations

Developing test scripts and plans; Perl and / or Shell scripting experience
is a plus

Provide Lab environment test support

Deep understanding and debugging capabilities for SIP and Wireshark
traces/captures

Test SIP call traces and SIP call flow

Develop Method of Procedure for field implementation

Attend project meetings to review system and test requirements

Provide production and escalation support to Operations and Service teams

Report and analyze Change Management activities across the VoIP network

Conflict identification, exception approvals, freeze administration and
emergency requests for all changes hitting the VoIP network.

Track and report on Outage Remediation action items until completion

Provide on-call support for after hour emergencies and exceptions
