 MUST HAVE:
5+ years’ experience in an Architect role at the Application,
Infrastructure, and/or Enterprise level
3+ years’ experience with Cloud computing solutions including Azure and Saas
3+ years’ experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Security
architecture
3+ years’ experience with design of services and service level
guidelines/standards
Experience in cloud computing based services architecture, technical
design, and implementations including Iaas, PaaS, and Saas delivery models
Experience in IT Service Management and ITIL framework including Business
Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning
Experience with legacy and web-based systems interfaces, API’s
Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related
business field

NICE TO HAVE:
TOGAF Certification
ITIL Certification

Need resource to lead Business Transformation Office's implementation of
Business Architecture and the Business Reference Model into the
organization.
Business architecture is a blueprint for VDOT that provides a common
understanding of the services it delivers.  At VDOT, business architecture
is captured in a business reference model and business capability map each
of which categorize our primary business functions by service areas,
 business domains and business capabilities.  The business architecture
describes “What” VDOT does not “How” it is done". Business Architects
increase operational effectiveness by increasing awareness of the origins
and contributing factors of specific problems across the organization. The
result can be a full scope of the problem, along with the effects,
opportunities, and risks associated with its resolution.  The VDOT
Enterprise Architecture is comprised of four domains:  Business
Architecture, Data Architecture, Applications Architecture, and Technology
Architecture.

The Business Transformation Office is responsible for the Business
Architecture and is seeking a resource to:
Lead development of Business Reference Model
Integrate BRM with other Business Architecture Domains (i.e., application,
data, technology)
Identify requirements for and develop Sharepoint repository for business
process maps
Identify other functionality required to optimize utility of BRM
Provide knowledge transfer to BTO staff
Work with agency's business architecture working group to ensure proper
coordination

Enterprise Architect Responsibilities
• Responsible for establishing, developing, and promoting enterprise
architecture standards* (TOGAF)*,as well as coordinating, developing and
maintaining applications architecture for business capabilities specific
landscapes.
• Own the development of business architecture blueprints and technical
roadmaps for the assigned portfolio.
• Responsible for leading the effort for the future state design of the
enterprise applications landscape
• Ensure project compliance with applications architectural roadmaps,
principles, standards and reference architectures
• Lead the design effort for all components of a business application and
application environment
• Guide the applications functional specialist teams in the development of
detailed designs as they relate to the landscape
• Serve as technical leader for business application design and responsible
for identifying emerging applications architecture technologies
• Own the delivery of strategic blueprints and roadmaps in collaboration
with application owners
• Participates and collaborates on the daily *Agile SCRUM* in a
constructive way, offering knowledge sharing
Requirements
• 8+ years of enterprise/application architecture and/or design experience
• Experience required in all three domains (Application, Data, Technical),
must be guru in one domain
• Solid understanding of application architecture principles and
methodologies
• Ability to understand and interpret business requirements and objectives
into technical solutions, frameworks and designs of complex IT
systems/lanscapes
• Deep knowledge of application architecture and technologies related to
business change, identifying associated risks, advising business on trends,
emerging technologies and strategies
• Knowledge of *TOGAF (preferably certified) enterprise architecture*
• Strong problem solving skills
• Proven leadership experience
• Agile team experience required

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Six or more years of consulting experience with enterprise/application
architecture
• One to two years of additional relevant experience in one or more
technical specialty areas
• Oil and Gas experience

• Good communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
• Ability to devise creative technical solutions
• Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal
confidently with complex technical problems
