CCNP Routing and Switching certification and CCNP Security certification * DHHS Information Technology Division - Infrastructure Services Group requires a Network Engineer to support firewall and LAN infrastructure for all division-supported locations and facilities. The Network Engineer for Cisco Firewall and LAN will be responsible for both daily network operations and a variety of tasks, initiatives and projects related to the support, enhancement, troubleshooting and improvement of the DHHS network infrastructure. This position will interact with various DHHS business unit representatives, other state departments and state information technology staff. This position will be responsible for working with DHHS security officials on firewall and other security related items. This position will be responsible for responding to network alerts for all supported platforms. This position will interact with system vendors technical support staff both in-person and via telephone, e-mail and remote desktop channels. Given the nature of the role, after hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) work may be required as well as some limited travel. Candidates must have their own vehicle. Position is also expected to be available by phone 24x7x365 for emergencies. Strong verbal and written communications skills are required as well as the ability to communicate independently with all business personnel. Must have current, hands-on experience supporting all aspects of network, firewall, IP telephony and wireless networking Required 7 Years Dedicated direct, hands-on Cisco ASA firewall platform installation, configuration, administration, support and performance monitoring and tuning. Required 7 Years Expert on Cisco Layer 2 and 3 switching infrastructure, including but not limited to Cisco 6500 Series Enhanced core switches, 4500, 3850, 3750, 2960. Required 7 Years Expert on all aspects of switch configuration including, but not limited to VLAN and VLAN ACL’s, QoS, secure management, monitoring and administration Required 7 Years Expert understanding of firewall rules, object groups, rule consolidation, security zoning, PAT, NAT addressing, IP subnetting and supernetting, Required 7 Years Strong and demonstrated ability to analyze firewall communication requirements and construct rulesets to provide/prevent system access. Required 7 Years Must be able to work independently on multiple tasks and projects. Required Must be able to prioritize tasks and projects and adapt to changing priorities. Required Excellent oral communication and writing skills with the ability to interact with upper management and business stakeholders. Required 7 Years Must be able to work as a leader or as a part of a small team providing input and guidance regarding technical issues. Required 7 Years Current Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching certification required. Required 7 Years Current Cisco CCNP Security certification required.
