*630-315-9561* *Position:java Developer* *location:Woonsocket RI* *duration:1 year* *Position Summary:* The Java Developer will work closely with the IS Retail Marketing and Merchandising , and Extracare Operations business and technical teams to deliver functionality for the Extracare. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the technical teams and will demonstrate a strong capability to work across multiple teams to deliver value to our business partners. The Java Developer is responsible for but not limited to: • Drive the design of solutions for the Extracare Loyalty program business that are scalable, maintainable, and reliable. Apply understanding of IT Standards and Design considerations for high volume online (OLTP) and batch transaction systems. • Proactively identify and evaluate emerging technologies and tools • Work with other senior Java software engineers to create the high-level J2EE software designs and technical specs • Evaluate package solutions and participate in selection of solutions to meet business needs and architecture standards • Participate in peer reviews on specifications, design and code • Work with development teams to resolve development and implementation issues • Work closely with the Extracare business team and Business Analysts to ensure that requirements are fully understood and documented in order to deliver quality design deliverables • Work closely with QA and Operations to ensure smooth QA and deployment of applications • Work with project teams to plan integration and implementation strategies Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 plus years of Java experience 7 to 10 years in Information Technology Experience in all phases of the software development life-cycle Experience with implementation of large systems that utilize J2EE technologies Applied knowledge of designing n-Tier OO system architectures using EJB technologies Applied experience with OOD and UML Applied knowledge of Design Patterns Experience developing in J2EE framework : EJB, JSP, Servlet, JMS, JNDI, JDBC, JMX, RMI Knowledge of and/or experience with Web Services Standards (SOAP, XML, WSDL, UDDI) a plus Experience with standard internet protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, POP, FTP, SMTP Applied knowledge of user interface (HTML, Javascript, JSP) design Applied experience with RDBMS design, development Applied knowledge of back-end connectivity to database systems Must be able to spearhead the design from business use-cases through design model Must be highly organized and detail-orientated Must have the ability to work closely with team members Good verbal and communication skills Flexible, motivated self-starter Should have strong understanding in core java (Not definitions, where and how to use). Basic understanding in Multithreading Strong in Collections (At-least in Map, Set, List) If more than 6 yrs of exp (knowledge in handful of design patterns- again not definitions, where and how to use) Basic knowledge in hibernate and sql queries (at least basic joins) Strong in REST (can be Spring or Jersey or any other framework) Good knowledge on Spring Core, Transactions, MVC Couple of simple logical reasoning questions.
