This candidate would have to willing to travel 50% of time
Travel would be to Los Angeles (LAX airport) and possibly Atlanta
Travel to LA would be frequent. It would be every other week. Three days at
a time. Most likely Monday – Wednesday. Travel to Atlanta would be less
frequent (Just as needed for a day or two)

*Network/Communication Solution Architect *
*Position Overview:*
The Network/Communication Architect will need to corral the network
engineering, Client’s SME, and facilities resources to organize, formalize,
solution, and vet the network options required for this project.  The
person must be self-motivated and knowledgeable with demonstrated large
project leadership experience.  Technical skill sets in network and
security design. The architect identifies and translates system
requirements into a prescribed architecture blueprinting and guide process
by building/maintaining the necessary project artifacts. The role reports
to and requires collaboration with Network Engineers, Project Managers, and
the IT Portfolio Manager. This architect role provides leadership to the
rest of the IT development team lead and the developers to ensure the
solution is achieved through the delivery of the approved technology.

*Project Overview:  LAX Terminal Move (LAX T2 - T3)*
The needed to support Client’s's new operation at LAX's Terminals 2 and 3.
Client’s's existing space at Terminals 5 and 6 does not allow for growth in
gate and facility resources. In alignment with Client’s's strategy to grow
the west coast operation and achieve partner co-location, Client’s is
supporting the LAWA (Los Angeles World Airports) plan to upgrade the LAX
facilities for a move to Terminals 2 and 3. A new tower, a refresh of the
radio resources, new voice system, RFID and Wireless infrastructure will be
positioned to support the new operation. A dual operation will be operating
from T5/T6 and T2/T3 for a period of 3-4 month during transition, with two
(2) new MCRs (Main Communication rooms) and 14 satellite communication
rooms are planned to support up to 1,500 network nodes.
CRE supported LAWA by working cross-functionally with Client’s's ACS,
Network, Finance, Flight Ops, Sales and other teams to help LAWA analyze
and develop a long term Terminal 2 and 3 facility strategy. After Client’s
completes its move to terminals 2 and 3, capacity will roughly double from
approximately 13 to 27 gates, while providing secure and convenient
opportunities for partner co-location.
CRE have been approved to support the Terminals 2 and 3 redesign, including
finalizing the relocation plan/design and completing construction of the
enabling infrastructure.

• Experience with datacenter network designs and deployments
• WAN/LAN Network Design and Operation
• Highly self-motivated, independent. .
• Experience with VMware Virtualization
• Familiar with F5 Load Balancing Equipment
• Global Sight Selection (DNS Sight Selection)

*Bonus: *
• Experience with deployment and recovery of VMware environments
• Software Defined Networking (SDN)
• Support of XaaS networking models
