*MSSQL Database Administrator position in CA (LOCAL) for 6+ Months Contract !!*
MSSQL Database Administrator Location: Walnut Creek, CA Description Seeking a MSSQL Database Administrator to join our team to provide first level support. The ideal candidate will display customer service qualities and the ability to partner with our data engineering team. We are highly motivated to partner with passionate engineers to help architect and automate our environment in AWS. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Install and configure new SQL Servers (versions 2008+). As new systems are brought in-house, choose best technology to provide quickest scalable solution on local and cloud platforms. - Performance improvement strategies on existing legacy systems including hardware or software upgrades, index optimization, etc. - Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms and increase visibility into the database health metrics. - Create profiler templates, automate profiling of development and production environment, and identify long running or problem queries, intrusions or vulnerabilities - Develop and implement a backup strategy to ensure we can meet Recovery time objectives - Implement a database change management process to support code deployments as well as ensure PCI compliance. - Automate regularly scheduled tasks and processes by creating generic utilities. - Provide support to the data engineering team by reviewing and optimizing ETL jobs supporting reporting data marts. - Assist application developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years of experience in database development and support in MS SQL Server environments (version 2008 - 2016) - 3+ years of experience in scripting language like Powershell, VB Script, Python, or similar. - Working experience in deploying physical and cloud instances of SQL Server. - Working knowledge in at least one other RDMS and noSQL database technology. - Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization using SQL Monitor, New Relic, and other related tools - Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server - Advanced experience with TSQL language and stored procedures, transactional replication, multi node clustering, mirroring, etc. - Knowledge of Data Warehousing and Column store databases. - MCDBA/MCT certification preferred Regards, Rachel Lian - Staffing Manager Desk No :201-855-4204 rachel.l...@itbtalent.com Princeton - New Jersey 08540 www.itbrainiac.com ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Notice: This email contains confidential or proprietary information which may be legally privileged.
