Position: Cognos Developer/Analyst Location: Louisville, KY Duration: 3 months plus Rate: Open/DOE (client considers candidates with lowest rate first so do you best) Required Skills/Experience: Development of cubes/dashboards and other Cognos related reports for the application Skill Set Requirements and Capabilities: 6+ years of Cognos Knowledge of Cognos 8.2 and 8.4 Ability to create complex Framework Manger models including relational as well as dimensional model relational based on specified requirements Understanding of the inner workings of Framework Manager macros and functions that cater to supporting stored procedures Ability to generate Transformer Models (including custom views) using Cognos Transformer and ability to generate the resulting cubes In-depth knowledge of all studios (Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio) and Cognos SDK Knowledge of the workings of Cognos security, in order to accomplish access and authorization requirements. Other requirements include: Proficient in both SQL and Oracle and setting up complex queries (both Cognos as well as native SQL) Basic understanding of business intelligence and data warehousing Ability to transform business requirements into reports, dashboards, and other BI components Ability to transfer knowledge of work developed to in-house staff. Special Requirements: Ability to work in a team environment, not only with other IT personnel but directly with the client base as well.
