*Position: Oracle DBA * *Interview: Phone and face to face Local candidates only.* *Duration: 6+ Months * *Location: Houston TX* *Description* SR DBA with 7 to 10 years- experience as an Oracle 11g, 12c and SQL 2008, 2012, 2014, production DBA on UNIX and Windows in a 24*7 environments, 3+ years-SQL Server 2008-2014 DBA preferred, 3+ years -experience with configuring and managing Data Guard databases in 11g or 12c, 3+ years in SQL and PL/SQL scripting and tuning, 5+ years in Unix shell scripting, In depth knowledge of Oracle databases, Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting - drill down approach with O/S, database and application, Database backup and restore, Pro-active database management, Well-developed written and verbal communication skills is a must, BS Computer Science or equivalent degree, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Preferred, Knowledge of MS Office required *Tasks to be Performed* This position will be responsible for supporting activities related to the design, development, and implementation for United’s complex Revenue Accounting and Operation databases. Job requires participation in 24x7 on-call rotations for production-support for Oracle and SQL Server environments in HPUX, Solaris and Windows. Responsibilities include working with IT Dev, Application and Production Support teams on supporting and implementing application changes, database enhancements, and database production support including incident, problem and change management, extensive troubleshooting, Oracle quarterly patch installs, Oracle and MS upgrades, running data-pump exports/imports to refresh data, backups and restores to refresh into non-production environments, working with distributed transactions via database links, and running daily data-fixes among many others.
