Please find the requirement below for your review *Role:* *ETL Consultant with Vertica* *Location: Sunnyvale, CA* *Duration: 6+Months Contract* *Job description:* *System Engineer:* Vertica, Vertica SQL coding Data Warehousing, ETL, Linux/Unix *Requirements * · Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a data related field. · Minimum 10 years of experience in data warehousing, operational data stores and large scale implementations · Minimum 2+ years of hands-on implementation on E2E Vertica implementations Effectively performs - ETL on large data volumes, requirements analysis, data profiling · Strong knowledge in Vertica Architecture · Effectively develops complex Vertica SQL coding (use of temp/volatile tables, complex joins, etc.) · Proficiency in SQL query development and performance · Proficiency with Unix/Linux shell scripts · Experience in Performance tuning in Vertica which includes creation of projection, partition, LAP, and segmentation · Strong Data migration experience from Oracle, legacy systems, MySQL · Knowledge in DBA specific activities for Vertica · Demonstrated expertise with software architecture & design, data structures and algorithms · Demonstrated expertise designing and coding high performance big data applications and services · Strong problem solving and analytical skills · Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills *Responsibilities:* · Design, Develop, Test and deliver projects with Data Warehousing concepts & tool · Experienced with dimensional database concepts, relational database concepts, data integration initiatives, data movement initiatives · Define technical requirements, technical and data architecture for big data processing and building highly available and scalable services · Implement/Develop methods and technology for keeping data secure and private · Work with noisy, dirty and unstructured data.
