PL/SQL DEVELOPER

Responsibilities for PL/SQL Developer

Designs, tunes and develops packages, procedures and functions to
perform database activities on behalf of mid-tier applications.
Writes complex PL SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers;
Ability to write efficient, complex queries against very large data
sets using TOAD
Designs PL/SQL implementations.
Optimizes existing PL/SQL packages.
Reviews the PL/SQL queries of .Net developers on the team and makes
suggestions to improve and make more efficient.
Develops work flow diagrams, data flow diagrams and data mapping documents.
Analyzes and extends XML Schemas, Creates database schemas in concert
with the Data Architect and Database Administrator;
Troubleshoots, debugs and optimizes code to ensure performance and
security requirements.
Works with Database Administrators, Web Administrator, Release
Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and other ITO staff, as warranted
to expedite software fixes that affect production, data quality, and
access.



Qualifications for PL/SQL Developer

1.      Advanced performance tuning skills in PL/SQL are essential .

2.      Expertise with ORACLE RDBMS, SQL-Plus, PL/SQL, and Toad.

Expertise in advanced PL/SQL techniques in a 10g/12c environment.

4.      Expertise in SQL tuning of large database environments.

5.       Experience with applications needing connectivity to Oracle
in both native and ODBC environments.

Strong background in dealing with XML data type. Familiarity with
Oracle SQL Extensions for XML data extraction and parsing as well as
with SQL/XML functions for conversion of tabular data into XML format.

7.      Experience with applications needing connectivity to Oracle with ODP.Net

8.      Experience in web-enablement of multitier enterprise
applications is required.

9.      Experience in web-enablement of client/server applications.

10.  Proficiency with Visual studio, Team Foundation Server and
standard Microsoft development environment.

11.   Education/experience that includes the design, development and
implementation of large-scale network based, multi-user applications.

12.  Thorough understanding of structured design methodology,
prototyping, client server/object oriented technologies and
programming techniques.

13.  Familiarity with Windows, JavaScript, Java, HTML, XML, XSD, and
Web based applications.

14.  Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting with
close communication with others..

15.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

16.  Understanding and training in configuration management
principles, change control practices and techniques, software version
management.

17.   Ability to pursue tasks with a minimum of supervision and
deliver quality work on time.

18.  Experience with.NET development and knowledge of .Net
architecture, ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#.Net and ADO.net are a major plus.

19.  University degree/diploma in Information Technology or completion
of Oracle Certified Training is an asset.



Development Environment:

Development environment includes Microsoft .Net framework 2.0, 3.5 and
4.x, Visual Studio 2010, Microsoft Enterprise Libraries, Team
Foundation Server, and Toad.
VB.Net, ASP.Net and C#.Net are in use.
Use of web services, Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, AJAX and XML.
Third party tools include Toad, Infragistics, and Active Reports.
Database connectivity to Oracle 10g in a Windows environment.
Currently migrating to Oracle 12c.
Software cycles through Development, Test, Stage, and Production environments.
