Title: Project Manager with Infrastructure posted on 2014-07-23 13:18:00 Job Description: - Oversee and manage large-scale server deployment, network uplift and other infrastructure related projects for Big Data solution hosting. - Perform infrastructure discovery and application dependency analysis - Determine business requirements, identify deployment strategies, negotiate schedules and provide on-going coordination - Deep involvement in the planning and execution of deployment plans and any decommission activities of infrastructure without disruption to business groups - Plan and coordinate core Big Data hosting application upgrades - Conduct capacity planning, work scheduling, implementation planning and execution, post implementation planning and execution - Drive meetings with SMEs from all areas of the business including: Architects and Engineering to seek input from and review migration methodology, resource requirements, timeline and constraints - Host weekly status meetings with senior management, business and technology teams - Coordinate closely with Engineers, Network and Storage teams to ensure successful execution of deployments on time with zero defects *Work Experience: * - Deep experience managing projects involving server consolidation and infrastructure consolidations/moves - Experienced leader, mentor and coach with proven ability to lead multiple cross-functional teams to manage large, complex projects and consistently complete them on time. - Hands on experience with large scale data center implementations or migrations preferred - At least 10 years directly related work experience in the Information Technology field is required - At least 5 years of experience with datacenter rationalization, consolidation, relocation or migration is preferred *Skills Required:* - Strong project management and technical leadership skills, with specific focus on large scale server / infrastructure deployments, data center migrations, consolidations, etc. - Demonstrated holistic understanding of Datacenter Operations (i.e. Production operations, Server, Storage, Network, Data Base Mgt., Systems Mgt., Helpdesk, DR/Business recovery practices, etc.) - Familiarity with functional operations of server, storage and network functions - Knowledge of server platform technologies - Ability to manage a project plan, track milestones and identify dependencies - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact efficiently with a large Project Management Office and Technical Team - Strong client facing and relationship building skills are required - PMP certification preferred.
