*Job Description:*
The Web Architect is responsible for planning, design & development and
integration of highly interactive web sites and Customer portals. The Web
Architect will manage complex technology projects that rely on extensive
technology & Customer requirements, and which contain various system
interfaces and components. The Architect will be responsible for the
creation of an educational public website and will collaborate with
programmers, Technology Developers, Network/System Architects, stakeholders
to develop and implement technology solutions that meet the needs of the
business and those of their customers.
The ideal candidate for the Web Architect position will have a minimum of 7
years of experience in Web Development, organization of Web Content and in
establishing Web Architecture.
*Responsibilities*:
- Build next-generation web applications with a focus on the client side.
- Redesign UI's, Implement new UI's, and pick up Java/PHP as necessary.
- Engage with back-end systems.
- Lead the front end development team to ensure best practices are
followed for:
- Low page load times - under 2 seconds
- Smooth and fast interactions on the front end - 60 fps and <100ms
for response times
- Responsive web design
- Choosing design patterns and libraries that help with the above and
increase development velocity
*Qualifications:*
*Desired Skills and Experience:*
- The candidate will have knowledge of infrastructure components,
middleware and SOA.
- Working knowledge of HTML, Java SE6, JavaScript (including jQuery) and
CSS development.
- HTML5 and CSS3 highly preferred.
- Knowledge of software product development standards and methodologies.
- Experience with Agile methodologies is preferred. Knowledge of
Hibernate 3.2.x and JPA 1, Spring Core 3.x and Spring JDBC 3.x and
JavaServer Faces 2.x is also required.
- In addition, the candidate will have the ability to develop
architectural strategy that synthesizes a wide variety of complex & dynamic
factors and inputs with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; ability to
respond to customer inquiries, effectively communicate critical problems
and discuss resolutions with management; ability to translate complex
technical problems into simple lay terms understandable to a non-technical
audience.
- Full understanding of project management processes and tasks is also
required.
- Experience with Content Management Systems required.
- SharePoint 2013 highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science,
Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is
required.
