Position: Oracle DBA Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 1 year Oracle 10g and 11g experience needed. Exadata and Oracle 12c experience plus. Performs physical database design based on a thorough knowledge of SDLC and IPLC menthodology using Northern Standard technology and proven techniques, available on the project, and the business functions of the subject system. Performs database administration including tasks such as loading data, managing data security and user access, performance monitoring and tuning, and all aspects of data integrity, backup, recovery, and user support. Plans, executes, and maintains database capacity, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery plans Familiar with all phases of database programming (i.e. Assists programmers to troubleshoot and tune programs in terms of efficient database usage) Thorough knowledge of the subject DBMS, DML (SQL), DDL, utilities, services, troubleshooting, architecture, syntax, etc Sufficient expertise with the host operating and network environments to completely provide all required functions and services including estimating and monitoring of all required hardware, coding and execution of administration jobs, and monitoring and archiving backup files TOP 3 CRITERIA FOR THIS POSITION: 1) Project DBA experiences 2) Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c definite plus 3) Good organizational, written, verbal communication skills PROJECT-SPECIFIC DETAILS: (Describe the project/projects this contractor will support. For example: What is the scope of the project/position? What business functions are being met? How high/low level is this project?) SDLC, IPLC type of projects that involved Oracle Database build and support during project cycle to meet business needs. Projects can be small, medium, large type of projects. Working on development, testing all the way through production go-live and turnover, it can be vended application as well as in-house development projects. ADDITIONAL DAY-TO-DAY Responsibilities: (Include any detail about daily expectations, deliverables, team culture, etc. that will give a clear idea of the job and its functions. For example: What will this person spend most of their time working on? Is this an operational or technical role, or both?) Work on various projects, it can be up to 5 different projects and all have different deliverables at various different time must be met. Most of job functions require DBA technical skills; some may be following through on administrative functions. Software / systems expectations: (Identify any programs, software, systems, etc. the candidate should be able to use and how they will be used. For example: What will the contractor use these technologies for? Be as specific as possible when describing how and why these technologies are important to the position.)
