*Duration: 6+ months * *Send Resumes at vina...@idctechnologies.com <vina...@idctechnologies.com>* The Sr. systems Engineer will be part of the team that is responsible to provide systems administration and Operational support our managed hosting and SaaS infrastructure. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will design, implement, support, and manage complex infrastructure, including product evaluation, testing, participation in product development, and in-depth troubleshooting. Candidate should be able to support a highly available 24/7 hosting and SaaS environment. Required skills and experience • Administer existing hosting and SaaS production & development Infrastructure • Provide consulting and technical expertise to other members of the hosting group • Monitor the Application and identify any needed patches, upgrades or changes affecting the applications • Coordinate with application developers, storage administrators, and management to develop, participate in, and enforce change control, communication of patches, upgrades, and changes to production • Serve as a liaison between infrastructure operations and the vendors to address performance issues or problem analysis and see them through to resolution • Execution of environment refreshes and maintenance of different hosting environments • Proficiency in using Vendor Tools to perform various system administration functions • Coordinate performance analysis, recommendations, and improvements within the hosting/SaaS infrastructure • Monitor system parameters and tune as required maintaining optimal performance using a multi tired, multi-server environment • Participate in high availability and disaster recovery testing • Analyze user and business requirements; determine appropriate technical approach and develop specifications for implementation of various applications utilizing appropriate tools • Participates in the development and use of other user oriented tools for data extraction and analysis • Coordinate with customer support organization regarding production configuration changes with tight change controls process • Develop and maintain scripts to enhance automation of managing the system Infrastructure • This is a Hands-on role - Must have the ability to perform hands-on installation and management of infrastructure devices • Proactively Support Engineering, Development and Lab Infrastructure • Experience supporting large-scale SaaS applications or Web • Expert knowledge of VMware administration is required • Hypervisor configuration experience (KVM / Xen, Hyper-V, ESXi) • Strong Linux/UNIX/Windows Admin skills, (500+ servers desired) • Experience with configuration Management tools (Chef, Puppet, SaltStack) • Cloud/Hosting experience (AWS, Rackspace, etc.) • Strong Scripting skills (Python, Bash, Perl etc.) • Self-driven, self-motivated, team player • Proactively oversee the monitoring of all Infrastructure devices, applications and services using a combination of tools, including Nagios, Microsoft SCCM, SCOM, Splunk, Solarwinds and others • Assist in troubleshooting networks as well as intranet and internet connectivity • Working knowledge on SAN/NAS/cloud storage technologies • Propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system Desired Skills and Experience • Ability to work autonomously yet collaborate in cross-functional team environments • Ensure business continuity (BC) through backups, DR processes and data security • Develops and Implements regular maintenance routines to insure infrastructure health • Ensures that all policies and procedures in the operation are followed in accordance to the set procedures • Ability to carry out monitoring and performance analysis using Nagios, and other industry leading monitoring tools • Provides hands-on leadership and development to local and remote engineers. • Excellent written and verbal communication • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills • Excellent customer service, communication and presentation skills.
