*Project Description: *
Client has been working in a managed services relationship with one of its
customers for a number of years. That customer has finally made the
decision to upgrade from earlier versions of Sharepoint to 2010.
The goal of this project will be to join the team as a sharepoint admin and
help contribute to the migration. The environment currently has instances
of both 2003 and 2007 that need to be migrated to 2010.
*Consultant's Day to day responsibilities: *
· Partner with the project leads to understand scope and requirements of
the upgrade
· Partner with other admin resources to migrate legacy versions (2003 and
2007) into a unified 2010 version
· Leverage previous upgrade experience to make recommendations
· Interpret, diagnose and resolve any issue resulting in the migration
*Required Skills: *
- Experience with SharePoint Portal Server is a must:
- Ideally having experience migrating from 2003 and 2007 to 2010
- Understand physical and logical server architectures for SharePoint
Portal Server
- Experience in the implementation, and support of large complex
applications
- Experience with IIS 7 web server administration and Windows OS
- Experience with .NET development technologies
- Experience with load balancing technologies
- Experience with Enterprise Web Security Models and architectures
-Experience with performance monitoring tools/techniques
- Understanding of MS SQL databases Understanding of Active Directory
- Strong oral and written communication skills Experience with
ForeFront, QUAD, Social Miner a plus
- Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
Support, maintain and document environment architecture and functionality
