Lauderdale, FL Durations: 6+ Interview mode: Phone Then Skype Note: SQL SERVER DBA WITH 5 YEARS OF DATA WAREHOUSEING AND BI( SSAS/SSIS) Must have the Certified SQL Server DBA *The Business Intelligence Database Administrator is responsible for working within the database team to deliver database solutions that meet the needs of the organization. The BI DBA must work well in a team setting and have excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and time management skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate accountability, flexibility and adaptability to handle multiple and changing priorities and be able to successfully collaborate withdevelopment teams, technology groups, and key stakeholders.
*Primary Accountabilities:* • Analyze business and technical requirements, as well as data warehouse data models, to understand the detailed data management requirements. • Collaborate on data architecture design and planning as the subject-matter expert for the physical structure and implementation of data warehouses and data marts. This would include providing specifics for hardware layout and system settings (e.g., disk configuration, memory settings, and data page or tablespace definitions) and planning and creating databases. • *Design, document and build physical database environments from table, column, index and view definitions to storage requirements and drive spacing and growth accommodations.* *• Work with ETL developers and data analysts to identify, design and implement solutions for extraction and integration of data to and from data warehouses and data marts for the purposes of reporting, decision support and analysis.* • Ensure the accuracy, reliability and scalability of the data as well as the processes implemented for data collection. • Manage, Monitor and Administer database and system performance. Including optimization and tuning of data loads, extractions and recommending appropriate procedure, query or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability • Manage job and activity schedules to promote optimal performance, maximum availability and minimize data latency and data load durations • Work with the Data Architects to help implement the physical data model for the development and / or production environments. • Set up new environments; install & configure software, build databases, create start/stop scripts, schedule jobs, etc. • Work with business and data analysts to identify, design and implement custom user interface programs for data management and extraction purposes *Experience:* Five plus years of data warehousing and business intelligence experience. Extensive experience in SQL Server database administration in a Windows server environmentrequired; with Microsoft DBA certification preferred Expertise working with high volume, partitioned data databases; with performance tuning and development skills; and a strong knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts is required *Candidate must be analytical, organized, proactive and able to work well with minimal supervision.* *Technical Skills:* • *Must have in-depth knowledge and experience Microsoft SQL Server 2000/SQL 2005/SQL 2008/SQL 2012* • Performance tuning, Replication, SSIS, code reviews, code optimization • *Must be strong programmer with T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers and Functions.* • Must have experience tuning and optimizing SQL Stored Procedures, Triggers and table designs. • Must understand Data Modeling concepts • *Experience with SSAS Databases and Cubes * • Experience creating/maintaining star schema data models a plus • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must be able to work independently and as a team player and adapt to role assigned • Highly self-motivated/disciplined, performs role with minimal supervision, notice or direction to identify and resolve problems and complete work • An expertise in MS SQL Server data warehousing and data mining concepts including but not limited to: star schemas, snowflakes, ETL processes, dimensional modeling andreporting tools is needed • Expertise in sizing, capacity planning, SSIS with data warehouse solutions in SQL Server environment is required. Knowledge of APS appliance is preferred • Understanding of business intelligence concepts plus *Non-Technical Skills:* • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English language communication skills a must. • Teamwork: Will be required to work closely within one or more teams and collaborate with other teams within the organization. Able to handle conflict, difficult situations, and urgent issues in a professional manner.
