But they are flexible at which one you are strongest at, as long as the person is coming from industry, with a high preference in Prime Brokerage. *Main Function * A senior ETL Informatica/Sybase developer position is available in Jersey City to undertake development and maintenance of the Barclays Capital Prime Services data platform. The existing system aggregates all brokerage custody data for delivery through the client reporting platform and the internet portal, PrimeCentral. To meet strategic objectives of the Prime business, the existing system will be undergoing significant re-engineering to upgrade technologies utilized, interfaces and data models to establish an enterprise ODS and Data Warehouse (Data Architecture). This data platform will eventually support all transactional and reporting processes across Prime. In addition, the Data Warehouse is expected to be a key element of the Business Intelligence and Analytics roadmap. *Main Duties * *Specific Responsibilities* 1. Develop and maintain ETL components using Informatica that source business-critical data from golden-source providers into Prime Data warehouse. 2. Develop and maintain real-time messaging facilities for acquiring reference data for dataset enrichment in Prime Data warehouse using Informatica ETL platform. 3. Work with architecture teams and data modelers to design the future-state data platform to meet current and future business objectives. *Person Requirements * *Essential Requirements* 1. 8 years hands-on experience developing mission-critical Database and ETL applications. 2. In-depth knowledge of Sybase SQL and Store procedure programming language. 3. Strong understanding of best practices in writing scalable Sybase applications handling high volumes of data. 4. Proficiency in SQL and stored procedure tuning. 5. Experience with scripting languages(unix shell/perl) 6. Working knowledge of Securities Industry and Prime Services is desired. 7. Knowledge of Business Objects Platform, Composite and development tools is desired. 8. Team player and proven ability to work under pressure and meet project dates. 9. The candidate must be self-motivated and confident. Must have strong analytical problem solving skills with the aptitude to learn as well as flexibility to adapt to change. 10. Understands and demonstrates best practices across all control process/procedures within Financial Services IT. *Education* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field or foreign equivalent.
